Upcoming Dates, Part 2: Gentle Movement for Hip Strength

Friday, June 2, 12-1.30pm; or, Wednesday, June 7, 12-1.30pm

Join me as we explore yoga therapy tools for long-term hip health. In this 2-part workshop, we will

  • release tension in the pelvis, hips, and low back

  • review yoga postures and somatic practices to increase both mobility and flexibility in the hips and surrounding areas; mobility and flexibility are both key to long-term hip strength

  • review best practice for loading your core in daily life, and how this relates to hip health

  • learn how to improve balance and awareness, as well as increase strength and movement confidence (including fall-prevention strategies)

This is a two-part workshop. In Part 1, participants will explore their own body and patterns of tension through the use of YogaTune Up balls and other props, and will practice somatic movements (floor-based, slow, small movements that align with the breath) to release tension and create ease in the body. Part 2 includes a brief informational session around the anatomy of this area of the body, more somatic movement and breath work, and a yoga-posture based practice to close our time together. Each participant receives a video of these sequences and techniques, a brief follow-up session with Patty over zoom or phone, and a resource packet for further study and exploration.

Please note: participants must have taken Part 1 before taking Part 2. When you register for Part 1, you will pay for both portions of the workshop and select your preferred date. Please then register for your preferred date for Part 2; there is no payment charge when you register for Part 2.
